Dan Baird in addition to his producer, Brendan O'Brien, trade noisy guitar licks on a new set of gutbucket rock & roll tunes. Baird's verge on is so basic it tarnish on the generic, except when he comes up with striking lyrics to supplement the simple sound, such what on the album-opening "Younger Face," a Dylanish complaint with reference to "another five in addition to dime would-be local legend" who "has come to take your place" (or maybe to take Baird's, unless he can distinguisb himself from the pack a little more often). There is what's more a nice cover of the old Deep Purple hit "Hush" that features songwriter Joe South on "na na's, hushes in addition to cleaning agent love's." ...
